Tertiary Crusher Types & Applications
Tertiary crushers operate near the final stage of a crushing circuit, reducing material that has already passed through primary and secondary crushing. They are commonly selected where finer aggregate, manufactured sand or improved particle shape is required.
How Does Tertiary Crushing Work?
Depending on machine design, material is reduced by impact, compression or a combination of mechanisms. Impact-type tertiary crushers use a high-speed rotor and wear parts to accelerate and break material, while cone or VSI arrangements may be preferred for other hard-rock and shaping duties.
Where Are Tertiary Crushers Used?
- Aggregate and manufactured-sand production
- Quarry and mining circuits
- Road-construction aggregates
- Concrete and asphalt aggregate preparation
Model Selection
The Turkish legacy article contains generic figures for feed size, final product size, rotor speed and motor power. These values are not treated as universal specifications in this English version because tertiary-crusher performance varies by model, material and configuration.
Selection should be based on feed grading, abrasiveness, required capacity, target product size, desired particle shape and wear economics.
