What Is a Cone Crusher?
A cone crusher is a compression crusher used mainly for secondary and tertiary size reduction of hard and abrasive rock such as granite, basalt and andesite.
How Does a Cone Crusher Work?
Material enters the crushing chamber between the mantle and concave. The eccentric movement of the mantle continuously changes the gap, compressing the material until it becomes small enough to move through the chamber.
Where Is It Used?
- Quarries
- Aggregate production
- Mining
- Hard-rock crushing circuits
Main Selection Parameters
- Feed size and grading
- Rock hardness and abrasiveness
- Required capacity
- Desired product size and shape
- Crushing chamber / liner profile
- Closed-side setting and recirculation load
Hydraulic and Lubrication Systems
Depending on model, cone crushers use hydraulic adjustment/protection and dedicated lubrication systems. Exact control architecture is manufacturer- and model-specific.
